چکیده

Biceps tenodesis is a common and effective surgery to treat recalcitrant bicipital pathology; however, the operative technique remains controversial. The objective of this study determine if there difference in clinical results among open subpectoral (SB), arthroscopic suprapectoral (SP), top-of-groove (TOG) patient-reported outcomes (PROMs.) for bicep (BT) procedures using global, self-reporting registry. Patients who had BT were identified Surgical Outcome System (SOS) Inclusion criteria isolated primary surgeries excluding those with rotator cuff labrum repairs. Additional search requirements included repair location 100% compliance pre-treatment 2-year follow-up surveys. This measured comparing 3 techniques American Shoulder Elbow Surgeons (ASES), Pain Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE) scores, at pre-treatment, months, 6 months 1- 2-years post-operative. VAS additional data 2 weeks. Statistical analysis was conducted one-way ANOVA. 2,176 patients from SOS registry qualified study; Group 1: SB (n=988), 2: SP (n=413) 3: TOG (n=775). There no statistical demographics groups. All groups statistically improved (mean, 49.29, + 0.63) years post-operative 86.82, 0.80; (p< 0.05)). between any given time point VAS, ASES SANE scores (p>0.12, Figure1). Specifically 2-years, 86.00 18.09, 87.60 17.69, 86.86 16.36 SB, SP, TOG, respectively (p>0.12). When biceps tenodesis, all resulted excellent improvement based upon PROMs. global No clinically superior other ASES, or up years. can remain confident their preferred technique.

Arthroscopic Suprapectoral and Open Subpectoral Biceps Tenodesis: A Comparison of Minimum Two Year Clinical Outcomes

BACKGROUND While a vast body of literature exists describing biceps tenodesis techniques and evaluating the biomechanical aspects of tenodesis locations or various implants, little literature presents useful clinical outcomes to guide surgeons in their decision to perform a particular method of tenodesis. PURPOSE/HYPOTHESIS To compare the clinical outcomes of open subpectoral biceps tenodesis...

Clinical outcomes after subpectoral biceps tenodesis with an interference screw.

BACKGROUND Subpectoral biceps tenodesis with an interference screw has been shown to be an effective procedure from both an anatomic and biomechanical perspective. There have been no clinical outcome data on this procedure to date. HYPOTHESIS Subpectoral biceps tenodesis is an effective procedure in eliminating biceps tendinosis symptoms. STUDY DESIGN Case series; Level of evidence, 4. ME...

All-Arthroscopic Suprapectoral versus Open Subpectoral Tenodesis of the Long Head of the Biceps Brachii

BACKGROUND Pathologic changes of the long head of the biceps tendon are a recognized source of shoulder pain in adults that can be treated with tenotomy or tenodesis when nonoperative measures are not effective. It is not clear whether arthroscopic or open biceps tenodesis has a clinical advantage. HYPOTHESIS Pain relief and shoulder function after all-arthroscopic suprapectoral biceps tenode...
